Explore Careers in Agriculture at the NH Farm, Forest and Garden Expo

Deerfield, NH — Students, young adults, and families interested in meaningful career paths are invited to attend the Agriculture Career Exploration Event on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Deerfield Fairgrounds. The event is part of the 42nd Annual New Hampshire Farm, Forest and Garden Expo, and offers a unique opportunity to engage with professionals working across agriculture, forestry, conservation, and related fields.

Held immediately following the first full day of the Expo, the event features a panel-style Q&A session with experts representing various sectors of the agricultural economy. Attendees will hear firsthand from professionals in farming, environmental science, land stewardship, and natural resources. Representatives from the University of New Hampshire Admissions Office will also be present to discuss academic programs, degree pathways, and training opportunities. In addition, local employers and state agencies will be available to share current job openings and emerging career trends in both traditional and modern agricultural fields.

This career-focused event is especially suited for high school and college students, tech school enrollees, educators, guidance counselors, and families who want to explore impactful careers in sustainability, food systems, and natural resource management. The setting will be casual and welcoming, with free refreshments and prize giveaways offered to attendees.

Students and their families are also invited to explore the NH Farm, Forest and Garden Expo earlier in the day at no cost. Complimentary admission can be requested by emailing info@nhfarmandforestexpo.org.

Now celebrating its 42nd year, the NH Farm, Forest and Garden Expo is a cornerstone event highlighting New Hampshire’s agricultural and forestry industries. Deerfield, NH — The countdown is on! Join us for the 42nd Annual New Hampshire Farm, Forest and Garden Expo, returning to the Deerfield Fairgrounds on Friday, May 2 (9 AM–5 PM) and Saturday, May 3 (9 AM–4 PM), 2025. This beloved event brings together the best of farming, gardening, and forestry in a family-friendly environment filled with discovery, learning, and hands-on fun.

With a mission to promote preservation, sustainable practices, and local commerce, this year’s expo continues a proud tradition of connecting communities with New Hampshire’s rich agricultural heritage—and future.

Workshops, Demonstrations and Family Fun at the Expo

Deerfield, NH — The 42nd Annual New Hampshire Farm, Forest and Garden Expo is set to return to the Deerfield Fairgrounds on Friday, May 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, May 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This beloved event offers two full days of educational workshops, live demonstrations, and family-friendly activities, celebrating the state’s rich agricultural and forestry heritage.​

Attendees can look forward to a diverse lineup of workshops led by industry experts. Topics include “Biochar for New Hampshire soils,” “New Hampshire Barn Trail,” “Chainsaw Use and Safety,” “Tree Identification,” “Mastering Multi-species Livestock Management,” “Quick Pickles,” “Understanding Soil Fertility and Fertilizers for the Home Garden,” and more. In addition to workshops, the Expo features live demonstrations such as the “Dark Horse Lumberjack Show” presented by East Coast Lumber on Friday from noon to 5:00 p.m., showcasing traditional lumberjack skills in a thrilling display of strength and precision.
